Mendocino County Destinations. The Chandelier Drive-Thru Tree is located in Underwood Park, just south of the town of Leggett about an hour north of Ukiah. It’s the southernmost of the three drive-through trees available along the Redwood Highway. Chandelier is considered the “best” of the drive-thru trees based on condition, ease of access and alignment in driving through, as well as angles available for photography. It must be seen (and driven through) to be believed. Sixty-miles away in Fort Bragg you’ll encounter the only public garden in the continental United States fronting directly on the ocean. Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens offers everything from colorful displays to thunderous waves. Explore manicured formal gardens, a dense coastal pine forest, fern-covered canyons, diverse plant collections and flower-filled coastal bluffs overlooking the bright, blue Pacific Ocean.
